About PVA Sponge

To the plain eye, PVA Sponge is just a solid block, but when examined on the microscopic level, it is completely full of air as 90% of the volume is pore space. The base material that envelopes these pores is structured as a 3-dimensional mesh in which the pores run continuously. This microstructure is the biggest feature of PVA Sponge and makes it functional in diverse ways.


	Unlike ordinary urethane sponge, PVA Sponge has high hydrophilic property. Because pores run in all directions, a capillary effect occurs, whereby creating excellent water absorption and retention. Once in contact with a fluid, PVA Sponge starts absorbing the fluid at high speed, drawing it inside right before your very eyes. And, it assuredly retains the absorbed fluid.

When wet, PVA Sponge is soft and elastic. When used for washing and wiping, it does not scratch surfaces. Its pliant nature is suitable for washing hard disks and silicon wafers in industrial applications, as well as for general uses such as car sponges, cosmetic puffs or sponge tissues.

This porous material is made of a special polyurethane and processed into uniform continuous pores using AION's proprietary technology. Unlike ordinary urethane foam, it is hydrophilic and offers excellent moisture absorption and retention.
